The purpose of our fellowship activities is to enjoy the company of our friends and neighbors in this beautiful area and to have the opportunity to meet and get to know newcomers.
Indoor Fellowship
Agape Meals
The Greek translation of Agape is love, universal and unconditional. The Agape dinner groups are St. James' version of the Agape Feast, a communal meal shared among Christians.
Groups of 8-10 people are organized to meet and share a meal at each other's homes or other venues approximately once a month. The "host" provides the main dish along with other contributions. Agape Groups provide an opportunity for fellowship and are reorganized each year to develop new friends and relationships. Contact: Geilan Ismail

Sunday Coffee Hour
After each of the services on Sunday morning, members of the congregation gather to share coffee and light snacks. This is a very special time to interact with friends and visitors. Members volunteer to host the Sunday coffee hour. Hosting simply means setting up the coffee pots and putting out the cups (which can be done on Saturday) providing something to munch on, and cleaning up afterward. Nothing elaborate, just something to enhance our time of fellowship and conversation. To sign up or for more information, call the office, 575-758-2790.
During the year we find other excuses to get together. For example, a potluck Thanksgiving dinner, or the Fourth of July or Labor Day picnics. On Fat Tuesday (the day before Ash Wednesday) we celebrate a traditional Mardi Gras. We’ve even had Mad Hatter tea parties and classy wine tastings. And a regular Tai Chi class brings people together for healthful activity aimed at staying strong, flexible, and focused. Nothing is out of the question when there is good fellowship involved.
Our gatherings are important to us. Even after Sunday services, when we gather for coffee and refreshments, many people make plans for brunch together. There is usually a group picking a local restaurant where the good conversation can continue.
For information on planned outdoor activities, call the office, 575-758-2790
